Is the pre-K expansion protected, or are the staff who run it being cut?
What We Know
State law requires the district to add about 80 to 90 pre-K seats in fall 2026. At the same time, the budget cuts 16 education technician positions, some of which work in early grades. It has not been made clear whether enough staff will remain to run the expanded program.
